Let’s Unwind & Get Glamorous

To reset and ground self in a space of relational exchange is a beautiful way to close off a year that was challenging in all aspects. To receive permission to let loose and present yourself as you are is unusual in a society that’s built to destroy human connection. Thankfully, Lumina Legacy Beauty is taking a stand against that notion and recreating alignment in ways that develop one’s mind, body and heart.

Lumina Legacy Beauty was officially launched on 19 June 2024 offering services such as the art of make-up, wig installation and styling, wig wash and treatment. Beauty events are quite common, although what makes ‘Unwind & Glam’ (curated by Lumina Legacy Beauty) feel like a makeover is how its frequency involves the customers – having an open engagement with their standards and interests. When founder Tshegofatso Randa who is the Make-Up Artist and Mentor was asked about the intention behind ‘Unwind & Glam’ she responded, “it was created with the vision to provide a safe environment where people can have fun, relax, learn and socialize. We would like to create a space where one can leave feeling seen, heard, fulfilled, inspired and rejuvenated.”
“Our mission is to help clients discover their inner light and radiate confidence and beauty. We are committed to delivering quality service and an overall unique experience at all times. We value authenticity, kindness and respect.” – Lumina Legacy Beauty’s brand values

‘Unwind & Glam’ took place on the 20th of December 2025 at Precious Estates (Zeerust) which happens to have been a collaborative effort by Lumina Legacy Beauty and Victory Day Spa. ‘Relax, Rejuvenate, Radiate’ is Victory Day Spa’s motto, where they believe that self-care isn’t a luxury but a necessity. Who wouldn’t want to feel the tension and unknown disturbances caused by daily life activities released from their bodies and be well acquainted with tranquility? Victory Day Spa has the answers as they offer massage therapy and bath salts that have plant-based components to soothe your body. This partnership isn’t really new as they have been working together for a few months via mobile spa services in Zeerust considering that Victory Day Spa is based in Roodepoort. All the guests present had the privilege to have their upper body massaged whilst others received full body massages under the cool summer breeze.

The garden area of the location was a perfect fit, because the symbolism of brown (which was the theme of the day) represented the brand’s vision to plant a seed that’s rooted in community and wholesomeness. The inspiration behind this event is the downward spiral occurring in the town of Zeerust where the youth don’t have access to such spaces and always have to consider going out of town to gain such an experience. It is also built to share personal skills and uplift local brands. ‘Unwind & Glam’ has been confirmed to be a continuous event that will cater to any brand that aligns with their values. Although their primary guestlist are women they are open to inviting men that will cater to the needs of this venture. This would be beneficial as there are a few men who are interested in getting to know peace and learning to interact with women respectfully. During this first event there were activities such as a live make-up tutorial, massage therapy and hair/wig giveaway. Moving forward there will be more activities that include the attendees, games and conversations.

“Unwind & Glam is the place to be. It is so beautiful and lovely, and having to spend time with the ladies feels so good. We received massages, drank champagne and mimosas. “At first it was so overwhelming because I was so nervous. But then everyone is so friendly, and I got to learn about make-up, well, relearn more so ‘cause it’s really in the doing. Most importantly everyone here is so nice and very kind. And I would love to do this again, hoping that the audience will be twice as large as today's crowd.”
“I know who I am and those I walk with, humbly so. My work and this event is all divinely-led creativity which will always be what makes me/us unique.” – Tshegofasto Randa
