Survival suggests that we continue to exist. Existence is an empirical reality that opens a portal of understanding the scientific realms of our beings. Though I would like to believe that that is not enough to really have a full human experience in the world. Which is why living should be a more approachable language to adapt to as this suggests that we are more than our psyche and physical – we are drawn to the truth of our souls – have more vitality than the conditions that the outside tells us to believe. To bring focus on creation, it is reasoned to be of all which exists. “Like energy, consciousness cannot be created or destroyed.” These words should spark an interest to know how one is formed and can carry through life without the death of living. What I mean is that you are an immortal being, inasmuch as you may not believe in reincarnation. There’s no sense in thinking that you are one-dimensional, and once you depart from earth you won’t live in another state of consciousness. You cannot really be unconscious without being conscious of that. It is a fact. Same way God commanded light to be day and darkness to be night, there should be a distinction in how everything connects and builds the world we live in. Now, I would like to discuss the creation of humanity and the dimensions of its intelligence. There are eight various intelligence, namely: logical-mathematical intelligence (often relates to nonverbal communication and problem solving), linguistic intelligence (relates to the ability of reading, listening, speaking and writing), spatial intelligence (the ability to think in three ways: to draw and paint, read maps and visualize images), musical intelligence (an innate ability to learn various sounds: to sing, compose and listen to music, play instruments), bodily-kinesthetic intelligence (using one’s body to express feelings and thoughts), intrapersonal intelligence (independently working towards achieving personal goals), interpersonal intelligence (working with others in different areas of life), and naturalistic intelligence (refers to the adoration of the environment). The main purpose of this piece is to engage on an intelligence that is often overlooked and vital for social interaction, and that is emotional intelligence, which is considered amongst the listed eight intelligences.
It is no secret that we’re functioning by two brains: the paleomammalian/emotional brain and the thinking brain. The emotional brain’s role is to impart insight on feelings, motivation and behavior. Whereas the thinking brain’s role is to organize language, memory and reasoning. What the social status quo promotes is IQ because its insistence in bridging a gap between humans is by means of language – creating concepts that can allow us to express our thoughts amongst each other; memorize experiences that allows us to make mistakes and take lessons, which can either be positive or negative depending on the intention practiced. Reasoning daily occurrences to “make sense” of the world within and around us is having the ability to reflect on your past and how you can transform your reality, to live in the present and discover the secrets of your image, and think about the future (which, sometimes, can damage your self-esteem). The thinking brain has so much power that it makes us believe that it’s the right center to have our value system created. Sure the reality we see with our eyes is the result/reflection of our thoughts, and that cannot change. We experience this, for example, in our school systems, where we are taught to reason everything and make less of an effort to connect with people. Schools don’t educate us. Schools dehumanize us. The system is determined to awaken the power of the thinking brain so that we don’t get to access our ability to process the experiences we endure in our environments. Intelligence is a birthright and should therefore motivate us to be mindful of how we act and speak in society. Do you think that you’ll have pure relationships with people and/or organizations due to having a high prestige in your school career? Don’t get me wrong, I am not shutting down the potential to obtain outstanding academic results. It is in the process of study that one can make the assumption of how one will move through life after school by the measuring of academics and sociability. Is there a balance? Should there be one? Is undermining the sustainability of emotional intelligence in a social setting a positive way to evoke success in a people? If you agree that in order to have prosperity in life is by dissociating with the idea of communicating with other human beings, you have succumbed to the system’s form: to incite fear in you and override the emotional aspect of your life. Thoughts have value, and it is your responsibility to question anything that may trigger your mind. You need to have confidence to perceive things with a sight of immediate cognition. Rationalizing your outlook in life may be what you were taught in school and/or at home; finish school at 18, head straight to college/university, make money and get married before you’re 30; all the things that govern a model in society that divides us from our true selves and evidently each other. I say this because when you are overcome with challenges and you don’t fulfil these standards at the time set, you become furious with yourself and the world. It is your natural impulse to trigger psychological processes that will divorce your purpose and rationale. So, how do you learn to deconstruct such a condition? By mending the emotional and thinking brains. To make clear decisions, ground self to your destiny, change your values, prioritize your wellness, be present, and cultivate healthy relationships, is to balance the presence of your emotions and thoughts. Emotions do not oppose the adequacy of thoughts. Emotions are the epitome of the seen and unseen. There is not an idea or a dream that is worth pursuing without an emotion attached to it. The sooner you realize this the better.
Neuroscientists use the term “working memory” for the capacity of attention that holds in mind the facts essential for completing a given task or problem, whether it be the ideal features one seeks in the house while touring several prospects, or the elements of a reasoning problem on a test.
– Daniel Goleman
Working memory supports the internal processes that allow immediate intuitive and linguistic senses. This is why it’s easier to feel frustrated and/or unsupported when things don’t go your way. You feel insignificant when you notice how angry something or someone makes you feel. And since you’ve let your thinking brain lead you, you conclude to believe that everyone is out to get you. But this is where the emotional brain steps in. The emotional brain tells you to relax and let it work for you. When you are stressed it becomes your logic in every situation. The manner in which you learn to receive information is how you proceed to accept it and enable/disable the ideas presented. This means that when thoughts are communicated outside of ourselves our feelings are then interpreted in conversation. There will always be friction between feelings and thoughts, although it is possible to harmonize the two by believing in the collective consciousness of humanity. We are the highest form of creation, and when our emotions are disregarded it is enough reason to think that we are not enough. I assure you that as a society, unlearning greed and hate and relearning empathy, we have the potential to have the eyes of love.
